Abstract

Autonomous and adaptive systems perform tasks without human intervention and are among the most challenging topics in technology today. Autonomous cars have already appeared on our streets and unfortunately due to some severe accidents they appear to be not as secure as we had hoped them to be. This paper tackles the question of how far we can push the boundary towards achieving such behavior and still provide autonomic operations at least in a certain context with highest safety guarantees to establish trust in autonomous systems.
