Abstract

At present, accessing the internet through visual interfaces is the most common approach. However, it requires some basic resources such as a computer or web-enabled mobile device, an internet connection, electricity and some amount of IT literacy. Because of the relatively high cost of this set up, underprivileged users are unaware or have no direct access to the internet. Since voice communications through telephony systems do belong to the growing trend, people make use of telephones for various purposes. Among them, accessing web through telephone devices is explored. In this paper, we present an approach to access the learning materials of the Learning Management System (LMS) of University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka through interactive voice driven applications.
