Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach to the treatment of leg venous insufficiency. This approach consists of an ICT-enabled medical compression stocking that aims at mitigating the requirement for daily assistance and increasing the patient’s self-sufficiency. More specifically, this paper presents the wearable subsystem of this solution. In addition this paper discusses the different prototypes that have been produced to demonstrate that this new approach is technically feasible.
